Gender-Neutral Bathrooms

Gender-neutral bathrooms are increasing in support and installation. Restaurant Luna Fargo received a complaint about their gender-neutral restrooms , however, they used it as an opportunity to make a statement. The company stated, “You caught us. The truth is, we consider gender neutral bathrooms to be a very small way we can let our community know that we take inclusivity very seriously. When a customer walks in our door, it is our mission to make them feel safe, comfortable and as important as possible. The fact that we also have a very small space and it only makes good business sense to label our single stall bathrooms this way, is really just an added bonus.” One article about making healthcare spaces more inclusive for LGBTQ+ individuals mentioned installing gender-neutral restrooms. Meanwhile, Quinnipiac University plans to install gender-neutral bathrooms in order to be more inclusive and complete its Campus Pride Index. The athletic fields at the North Salem Central School District are being remodeled with gender-neutral restrooms being installed.
